ABOUT THE ARTIST - Willis Irvine
Willis Irvine has been doing artwork all of his life. Coming from a family of artists and carvers he always had a steady supply of inspiration and support. Being a Harkers Island native he has a respect and understanding for the "Down East" way of life. He wishes to help preserve this way of life through his art. Most of his work is of the Cape Lookout Lighthouse and the other North Carolina lights. Although most of his work consists of seascapes and wildlife, he occasionally does protraits as well. He has won the Core Sound Decoy Festival poster competition twice; in 2000 and 2001.
