ABOUT THE ARTIST - Chuck Carmack
Chuck Carmack grew up in the Mountains of Western North Carolina and moved to the Coast in 1986. His passion for photography started in high school when he joined the camera club. He studied photography at the local community colleges in Asheville and Wilmington. The subjects of his photos have varied over the years. Having enjoyed the outdoors all his life, it was only natural after his retirement to turn his interest to nature photography. His successes in nature photography include winning numerous photography contests as well as being published in books and magazines. He enjoys sharing his enthusiasm and experiences with others at the art shows in which he participates and in teaching classes.
Chuck is on the Board of the Cape Fear Audubon Society and is a member of the Cape Fear Camera Club, Carolina Nature Photographers Association, North Carolina Wildlife Artist Society and Carolina Bird Club.
